The Harwood Sugar Mill is Australia's oldest continuously operating sugar mill. It began operations in 1874 and is owned by a growers co-operative who bought it off the Colonial Sugar Refining Co (CSR) in 1978. In 1989 a sugar refinery opened.
The sugar is mostly for the Australian market and sold under the Sunshine Sugar label.

Oh come now. That's WAAAAAY too attractive to be a sugar mill!!! But what a shame you don't have 'smellavision'!!!
ReplyDeleteIs that smoke or fog?
ReplyDeleteI always love your comments Red! I don't mind that sickly sweet smell you get in the vicinity of the mill but when you do a tour (not sure if it still occurs) the molasses area is truly the most overpowering and gut wrenching experience.
ReplyDeleteJim it is steam.
ReplyDeleteWow,- this is so cool!I love it!
