This is one of my favourite buildings in Lismore. Located in Woodlark St, it has a striking design. It was built in 1915 and I wish I knew a lot more about it. Do any of my Lismore readers know anymore?
The roof is more like a hat and it has beautiful mouldings. Sadly the whole building is empty at present.

What a beautiful and interesting structure... I'd like an apartment there!
ReplyDeleteWow! I've never even noticed it before... I see many nice buildings in Lismore but for some reason I've never looked at that one. Maybe I'm just too busy shopping.
ReplyDeleteInteresting building. Sure stands out a bit.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is striking.
ReplyDeleteYes, Mark, I can't think how many times I've been past there, without noticing it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post.
I hope the emptiness doesn't mean the building is listed for demolition! It's magnificent! I hope you can find out more about it and let us know!!
ReplyDeleteVery unusual building. Sriking colour scheme.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting building.
ReplyDeleteMy Blue Monday.
Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe blue top part of the house is really great but the bottom part is - well - a tragedy! Why not honour the Art Nouveau architecture?
ReplyDeleteI can see a glimse of something interesting to the left as well, do you have any pictures of that building?
The blue is the perfect color to make this an eye-catching building.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday, Mark. Be sure to check out my book giveaway.
What an interesting building! When I see places like this I always wonder whether they kept the inside true to the architecture of the facade. It certainly is an eye catching shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful architecture. Hope is remains there, and someone becomes a tennant. The blue really catches your eye.
ReplyDeleteThis is COOL!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJohn
